Forristal, Martin (2019) “Mount Ida.” Our first guest author, Mr. Martin Forristal, is a life long resident of Glenmore. In this article on Mount Ida, Martin not only traces the history of the house for 120 years, his unflinching article gives a fresh perspective on Victorian Glenmore covering the landlord’s apparent bigamy to evictions.

Walsh, Peter (2020) “The Enduring Names of Rathinure.” Our second guest author, Peter Walsh is a life long resident of Rathinure, Glenmore. In this article Peter provides some of the family names that have disappeared from Rathinure as well as the Irish and non-Irish names of the fields and lanes in the townland that have passed from one generation to the next.

Claridge, Dick (2020) “Glenmore Verses from the Early Twentieth Century.” Our third guest author, Dick Claridge, is a long time resident of Glenmore and has recorded and collected Glenmore verses. These verses or rhymes from the early years of the twentieth century reflect Glenmore humour, events, and even a prank or two.

Moore Walsh, Kathleen (2020) “Finding Glenmore Needles in US Haystacks: Ten Helpful Hints and Examples From the Emigration of Nicholas Murphy (1836-1917).”

Forristal, Brian (1990) “A Place to Hide From the Black & Tans.” Brian lives in Waterford, and works in the civil service. Brian’s family originated from Rochestown/Kearney Bay and he is a regular in the parish of Glenmore. Brian recorded stories he heard from Tommy “of the river” Connolly, of Aylwardstown, Glenmore.

Forristal, Brian (1990) “The Tans are Coming.” This is the second story recorded by Brian Forristal concerning Tommy Connolly’s boyhood in Glenmore parish during the Irish War of Independence. Brian lives in Waterford, and works in the civil service. Brian’s family originated from Rochestown/Kearney Bay and he is a regular in the parish of Glenmore.

Cashin, Adam (2021) “The Shanbogh Cashin Family History.” Our first guest author for 2021 is Adam Cashen who has written an interesting account of his research on the Cashin Family of Shanbogh.

Synnott, Ed (2021) “The South Kilkenny and Waterford Connections of the first English Cardinal since the Reformation – Nicholas Wiseman.” Ed Synnott is a native of Glenmore, and the Chair of the South Kilkenny Historical Society.

Fitzgerald, Ann & Brown, Patty (2021) “Glenmore New Brunswick & Back.” Ann Fitzgerald is a native of Glenmore and Patty Brown is the descendent of Glenmore ancestors. This article not only highlights the emigration to Canada of Patti’s Glenmore ancestors, but how family research brought Ann and Patty, distant cousins, together from across the Atlantic to become good friends and research partners.
