As August draws to a close we have a couple of public service announcements for local readers.
Glenmore Scrap Metal Drive
The Glenmore Community Development Committee has held two fundraisers to establish a much needed and wanted community based cafe and shop in Glenmore Village. Last winter a play was held in the Community Centre and in the spring a table quiz was held in the Glen Bar. Currently the Committee have arranged a scrap metal collection with all proceeds going to support the project.
The drop off point is at Richard Fitzgerald’s of the historic Half-Way House, Aywardstown, Glenmore, Y34 HX67.
Sought items include: unwanted old machinery, scrap steel, wheel hubs, barrels, copper, scrap cars or cast iron. For more information, or if you wish to have an item collected please contact Richie at 086 2494256; Gerry at 087 9349708; or Fidelis at 087 9752556.
Carrick Remembers a Fallen Son on 3 Sept. 2023
The Third Tipperary Brigade Old IRA Commemoration Committee have organised the event to remember Vol. Patrick O’Hanlon (23 Aug. 1906-4 Sept. 1923) at St. Mary’s Cemetary, Carrick-on-Suir at 3 p.m.
